About JW

The Short Version

I'm Jason Block. Entrepreneur, operator, builder, writer. Based in the Atlanta metro area. I run WorldVia Travel Group, a portfolio of travel businesses I founded in 2014. I build things with AI. I write about systems thinking. And I'm working on a book called The Systems Code that tries to explain why the same architecture keeps showing up in every business that actually works.

This site is where I think out loud about AI, entrepreneurship, and building durable companies. Ideas with velocity.

How I Got Here

I grew up in the travel industry, watching my parents build one of the largest franchise networks in the country. After college I spent six years inside a Fortune 500 financial services company during a period of explosive growth, working across risk management, technology, real estate, and international operations. From there I went the opposite direction -- restaurants, franchise development, print services -- building and scaling businesses from the ground up across industries that had nothing in common on the surface. But they had everything in common underneath. The same architecture kept showing up: the same leverage points, the same failure modes, the same systems that separated the companies that scaled from the ones that stalled. In 2014, I founded WorldVia to bring it all back to where it started -- travel.

What I Run

WorldVia Travel Group is one of the largest companies in travel that you've probably never heard of.

WorldVia Travel Network is one of the largest and fastest-growing host agencies in the United States, supporting thousands of independent entrepreneurs with technology, education, marketing, and business tools.

Safe Harbors Business Travel is our corporate travel management division, serving organizations across healthcare, finance, logistics, NGOs, and government.

What I'm Building

Running WorldVia is the day job. But I spend significant time building at the intersection of AI and real business problems -- AI-powered products, new ventures, and tools that solve actual operator pain points.

What I Write and Speak About

I started writing a weekly message to our WorldVia community of independent business owners in 2022. What started as a mid-pandemic pep talk has turned into a regular weekly feature. Those messages became the raw material for The Systems Code -- my upcoming book about the operating frameworks behind companies that scale without breaking. The core thesis: durable businesses aren't built on hustle. They're built on systems.

On this site, I write about:

  • AI and what it actually means for operators and entrepreneurs (not the hype cycle)
  • Systems thinking as a competitive advantage
  • Entrepreneurship, building and running real businesses
  • Development experiments, AI tinkering, and anything I'm curious about

I'm available for speaking engagements, workshops, and panels on AI adoption, entrepreneurship, and systems-driven leadership. If you're interested, get in touch.

The Principles

  • Build systems, not just products. Products break. Systems compound.
  • Simplicity scales. If it's too complicated to explain, it's too complicated to sustain.
  • Velocity matters. Speed of learning beats speed of execution. Test fast, decide faster.
  • AI is a tool, not a magic trick. The winners will be the operators who integrate it into real workflows with measured outcomes.

Keep Building,
JW
